Safety and comfort above all - LED manoeuvring lamps are becoming a must-have in truck light kits
WESEM has extended its product range by adding a manoeuvring lamp to its CRP1 product family. The lamp is designed to provide lighting to the sides of a vehicle. Adding manoeuvring lamps to your vehicle, thus ensuring better visibility, helps avoid accidents or collisions with obstacles as well as improving comfort while parking or reversing.
Manoeuvring lamps are practical lighting solution for trucks, although still not in widespread use. Such lamps provide extra light to the sides of a vehicle - this WESEM manoeuvring lamp boasts one of the largest luminous fluxes on the market in this lamp category - for slow manoeuvres (up to 15 km/h).
In the case of large vehicles and poor lighting conditions, light from reversing lamps does not reach areas where it is needed. That is why such an extra lighting solution, fitted on the sides of heavy goods vehicles, commercial vehicles, utility vehicles or emergency vehicles is gaining in popularity. Manoeuvring lamps ensure better visibility; they help drivers to avoid collisions with obstacles and accidents, which directly translates into lower vehicle repair costs and improved driver safety.
Manoeuvring lamps used on public roads need to be approved for such use. In approval descriptions such lamps are referred to as “ML”. Most commonly they are fitted to the chassis of heavy goods vehicles, trailers or semi-trailers. There are no special requirements as to mounting arrangements, but the manufacturers' guidelines have to be followed to ensure proper and compliant mounting. Your manoeuvring lamp will come on when you shift the vehicle into reverse gear or when you switch it on manually. When you are driving forward, you can switch on the lamp while making manoeuvres with a speed of up to the 15 km/h.

Please note: in order to ensure most comfort when reversing (and ensure compliance with applicable regulations), for vehicles of large dimensions (i.e. trucks with length exceeding 6 m), an optimum solution is to install 2 extra reversing lamps (series CRK1-AR, CRK2-AR i CRC4-AR) at the rear of the vehicle and one manoeuvring lamp (series CRP1) on each side of the vehicle.°
